Does Ascension work on M1 Macs? (Mac Silicon/ ARM)

Short answer Yes!  Ascension 1.5.1 works on both Intel and M1 Macs - we recommend that you upgrade to version 1.5.1.

Ascension 1.5.1 will run as an Audio unit (AU component) on your M1+ based Mac using Rosetta2.

The up-coming Ascension 1.6 will work natively on Mac Silicon M1 based Macs and Intel Macs available as an Universal Binary. Sign up to our news to get the update as soon as it is available.

For Mac Silicon users, you will need to ensure that your DAW app such as Logic Pro X is up-to-date and has "Open using Rosetta" enabled.

You can enable this option by visiting your Applications Folder, right clicking Logic Pro > Get Info > "Open Using Rosetta".

If you have not updated to version 1.5.1 make sure you sign up to our newsletter below to get the latest information.

If you have migrated your Ascension installation from a previous Mac OS or computer you will need to re-licence Ascension.

Ascension 1.0.1 is not compatible with Mac OS 11 Big Sur or above.  You must upgrade your synth to Ascension 1.5 or higher.
