Ascension themes, or "skins" can be found in your Ascension Config Folder as standard ZIP files.

To create your own custom theme we recommend choosing a pre-existing theme as a starting point.

Copy your selected the ZIP, such as "FlatWhite.zip" to a new folder on your PC or Mac. Unzip the file and you'll find all of the graphic elements that make up Ascension front panel.

We recommend editing each graphic element in a graphics editor app such as Photoshop (other apps are of course available for free!).

You can modify text and display colours using the included skin.json file, ensure all file names match those referenced in skin.json. Note: some colour options listed in the file may not currently be applicable.

Creating Custom Knobs:

Use Knobman (PC Only), or the online WebKnobMan app and the pre-existing Knob Gallery to create your own knobs that match your stylings.

Knob specs:

Normal: 100px
Medium: 72px
Small: 50px [May not be applicable in current release]

Rendering frames: 61.

Workflow:

We recommend testing your skin frequently to ensure that all elements display correctly. Skin ZIP files must be zipped in the same format as the official skins: failure to do so will crash Ascension.
